Back to the classroom and challenge schools to find creative ways to identify commercial opportunities relating to the low-carbon and climate resilient economy.
The Boardroom versus Classroom Challenge will see three North East-based businesses challenge and work with school and college students on four exciting projects all looking at ideas that can become commercially viable while offering ways to reduce carbon or increase adaptation to the impacts of climate change.
Envirohomes and Framwellgate School Durham are designing sustainable ways to camp in luxury, also known as ‘glamping’,
Whatch this space for the future -----

It was great to see you all last week and your project sounds very exciting! Can’t wait to find out more about glamping and how to camp in style!
If a low-carbon economy is to become a reality, then young people have a crucial role to play. The Boardroom vs Classroom Challenge provides an opportunity for business like Envirohomes to share their expertise more directly in local communities, and in turn, allows young people to really use their creativity to solve climate change challenges in an entrepreneurial way.
The Glamping Team had a really good meeting this lunchtime and were talking about possible themes for our project idea. They really like the name that Bill has come up with for the product but this is still top secret.
They have also done lots of research about where the product could be used and have been seeking out possible materials and gadgets that could be included in their design.
The team are very excited about the concept and are looking forward to speaking to some other companies who maybe able to help with some of their ideas to make the product even more sustainable.
