Design
Design – Major Points
Our homes are all designed around the following sustainable principles:
- High levels of insulation
- Use of efficient heating systems
- High levels of air tightness
- Use of FSC timbers, where possible
- High use of materials that are recyclable
- Low water usage fittings
- Use of renewable technologies
- Low energy electrical fittings

Design – Finishes
Externally
External finishes can be chosen to compliment the building’s surroundings. For wall finishes we can offer:
- Brick
- Render – of all types
- Stone
Roof finishes can again compliment the building’s surroundings and can be:
- Tiles
- Clay
- Concrete etc.
- Slate – both natural or synthetic
- Any other option required

Internally
The internal finishes of the home dictate its feel. At EnviroHomes™ we pride ourselves on a quality of finish that is second to none. This can be from a contemporary luxury finish to one designed to meet a tight budget. The finish quality is always guaranteed irrespective of the level of specification of finish for:
- Kitchens
- Bathrooms
- Floor coverings
- Joinery
- Electrics
- Etc

Design – Heating
We use heating systems that compliment the spirit of the home. We specify these after close liaison with you.
1. Under floor heating
This gives:
- A floor that is always warm to walk on
- No hot and cold spots to a room
- A fully controllable system
- No loss of wall space to radiators
2. Gas Boilers
As technology advances more products are released onto the market keeping gas boilers a viable option in many cases. Extra condensers can be fitted to combination boilers. Heat pumps have also been integrated by some manufacturers giving the best of both technologies.
3. Heat Recovery/Heat Pump Systems
The use of heat pumps and heat recovery systems are all classed as renewable technologies. For larger properties and for shared / district schemes ground source heat pumps are often the most effective option. For individual dwelling there are significant advantages with air source heat pump technology. Both systems can be inter linked with either radiators or underfloor distribution systems.
The use of heat pumps can give co-efficients of performance of up to 400%, in the right circumstances. This compares to around 91% for the best gas boilers.
4. Domestic Hot Water
Our heat pump systems can give a good base load to your hot water requirements without the use of raw energy. This can be coupled with a thermal solar system to make the home virtually self sufficient for hot water for months at a time.

Design – Walls and Floors
Our walls and floors are all designed and manufactured to exacting standards. We use highly innovative technologies that can achieve ‘U’ values in the wall as low as 0.104W/m2K.
Our use of these technologies does not heavily impact on the cost of your home. People living in the home also have the knowledge that you will be paying far less for their heating than virtually everyone you know!!
