The Department for Communities and Local Government leads on housing policy.
Housing has been identified as a major issue in rural areas, where affordable housing is, in many places, more difficult to find than in urban areas. There has been a general shortage of new supply of housing which, coupled with an increase in demand from a growing population and a tendency for more people to live alone, has resulted in problems with housing affordability. In rural areas, where there are additional barriers to supply, these problems are more acute. The Government’s vision is to increase the supply of housing across all tenures and create a more responsive housing supply and a lower trend in prices, which will contribute to greater macroeconomic stability and greater affordability.
EnviroHomes is now working in partnership with CEAD to develop the EnviroVillage - we will keep you informed of any major developments in the near future.
